DoingTIME 2.0DoingTIME® 2.0 is here at last.  It sports a brand new paint job and gives you more filtering and sorting.  It’s available at no extra charge to existing DoingTIME clients by clicking on Help, Troubleshooting, Check for Updates on Web in DoingTIME.  As with any new version, we recommend you back up your data before the upgrade as a matter of caution.

For those upgrading, you’ll find everything you had before is still there and works the same way.   But there are some exciting new additions.

On the list of clients page, the Find now acts as a filter as well.  You will see the list get smaller as you type the name.  You can click on any of the column headers and sort by that column.  However, the Find function will then find on that column.   You’ll see the selected client’s information in large letters on the right.

By going to Maintenance → Preferences → Show Client Images, you’ll enable an exciting new feature.  Now you should see a small picture icon next to the name.  By right-clicking that icon, you can upload a scanned picture.  If you don’t get that option, you’ll need to enable it in Password Maintenance.  There are some limits though.   The picture must be a .jpg or .jpeg file.  The picture can be no larger than 300 x 300 pixels.  If you have a larger picture, you can probably resize it by using Windows Paint (which probably came with your computer), or some other photo editing software.  Hovering over the uploaded picture gives you a larger view.

You can now use custom headers on your statements.  You’ll find this option under Program Maintenance.  Again, if you don’t see the option, it can be enabled in Password Maintenance.

There is a new Alternate Layout for statements.  This is set in the Select Statement Format dialog you’ll see when you print a statement.  You can click change on an existing statement to tailor it for your firm’s use.   This will show the services by date continuously without showing the Posting line items inserted.  It may be easier for your clients to read the statements with this format.

Another really nice addition is the ability to set any account as a default account (including trust accounts).  For example, if you receive all payments into the trust account for the client, you can set that as a default account by right clicking on the account on the client accounts list.  Choose Set as Default Account for this Client.  Then, when you use the Add Payment shortcut, CTRL+R, on the Transactions menu, the default account will be the one automatically selected to receive that payment.   If you are entering several time entries into a client, you may want to set the default to be a billing account.

So, in many ways DoingTIME will be SAVING you time!  We hope you enjoy the new version!  As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
